I live in a pretty rural area and couriers can sometimes be a bit iffy around here! It wouldn't be a problem when I'm working but during holidays it's nice to know I can request An Post and not have to worry.

Hi I received my order yesterday unfortunately I
had only done a few rows on the circular needle
when the plastic came out of the needle,
not only causing me to loose a lot of stitches but
I know cant finish the item I am knitting which was
to be a present for someone at the weekend,

Thank you, I have lots of circular needles but they are all very long, and I needed the shorter one for a cowl neck on a child jumper, much appreciate your quick reply.

Yes I use circulars all the time also and the plastic joint has become brittle over the years but never broke.
Pony would be one of the better brands also so am surprised.
I have started to knit with the knit pro brand (only because I stock them!) they are expensive I probably would never
have tried them otherwise but I have to say the stitches
just flow off them with no effort and no squeeking of yarn!
Really nice needles to use, anyway if this needle breaks on you
let me know .. I will bin the rest!

Well I hope it last till i at least get this garment finished lol,I shall certainly be looking you up again when i need things,normally i just get stuff when i go back to England but i don’t always know what i will be needing, so great to find you

I was delighted to discover my parcel of wool waiting for me at the post office today. I had not expected to receive it so soon - sometimes our local mail takes a week just to travel a few suburbs! As the grey 707 in Chunky is no longer readily available, I was even happier to discover that the lot number is exactly the same as the few balls left over from a packet I had purchased 2 years ago from a completely different location. This is the perfect yarn for knitting koala bears!

Hi there,
A couple of days ago I ordered a 2.25mm 40cm Knit Pro Zing circular needles from your shop. They arrived in the post today and while I was very happy with how fast they arrived they did not arrive in good condition.The plastic wrapper and envelope was torn with the ends of each needle poking out of the envelope. When I opened the package I also noticed one needle was bent.The needle packed was in a standard letter envelope with no protective packaging and a 70c stamp attached. Considering I paid €2.90 in postage I would have expected a better standard of packaging. Please see attached photos.I ordered from your shop because I was unable to find this particular size of Knit Pro needles in other Irish yarn shops and am unfortunately disappointed in your service.
Hi Peggy-Ann, We will send you a replacement needle today. To be fare to the Post office we suffer very little damage on missing items. Regarding the postal charges on our web site. we operate a flat rate charge so whether you order 1 item or 50 items the charge is the same. You must also consider we live 6 miles from the post office and all the deliveries must be driven to the post office. Regards Niall

Excellent range of wools and great value for money. The orders are processed efficiently and arrive so quickly. Love the idea of vacuum packing the wool too, (it's always a bit of a novelty watching it grow from being paper thin to a huge ball in seconds). It's my go-to shop for wool, haven't a bad word to say!

After shopping around a long time, I can't praise this site enough, the staff, there products and the cost are second to none.  The standard postal rates means they are one of the cheapest around.  The fact most your orders are vacum packed means the postman can normally deliver even if I am not at home. The service reminds of the way things used to be "the friendly village shop" but brought to life on the internet, very rare and something a few of the bigger retailers should try remember.  As a full time knitter, I am constantly buying.  Selling craft's with most the profits going to special needs children means I need to keep costs down as low as I can.  With orders coming in I know I can rely on the wool shop to deliver almost always the next day.  If there is ever a problem there's a kindly phone call asking me if everything is ok.  I have used this site for a long time now and just wanted to say, amazing service, thank you all and well done.

The wool I received in the post today is actually Debbie bliss baby cashmerino mulberry instead of damson which I ordered.

The ball bands on the four balls of wool are 340087 which is infact the colour code for damson which I ordered, however, the actual wool received resembles  that of mulberry which is shade 95. 

Emma, We did dispatch the colour you ordered. If you want to return the yarn that's fine we will issue a rebate to your credit card.Shade 95 is in stock. If you want colour 95 please order it in the normal way.

I am very disappointed with that you cant exchange 4 balls of wool  for another color and I would have been buying more .... thats the first time this has happened to me ..... and I have been knitting for years and I do know about dye numbers so your excuse is not very good. 

Hi Noeleen,Sorry you feel this way but the yarn was ordered beginning of January. We make no excuses, with each new order of a yarn, comes a new dye lot. We cannot sell odd balls they are just dead stock to us.

I have not received the digital download for Hayfield Aran Knitting pattern 7065 - item number SR7065 ordered on 9th February 2017 and paid through Paypal Account for 3.99 euro, a receipt for which I have received from Paypal. If this pattern is not sent within 48 hours I will contact Paypal. 

The reason you did not receive your pattern was because the email you used on your order was written incorrectly.  If we had been informed about this sooner we could have sorted it.

I have to say I'm not impressed. No call back.
Mistakes happen, the other lady whose order you got, sent a polite email explaining the problem and asked nicely could we sort it. Our customer service happens to be excellent.
Perhaps after 50 ph. calls and numerous unpleasent emails you could have figured out there might be something else going on.
My mother died in past few weeks and on Friday I sat with my dad all day waiting for him to take his last breath.So irate phone calls and emails are very very upsetting. So the next time you get 'annoyed' consider more carefully how you handle it.
Niall tells me he rang you on Sat. so your correct order will be in the post on Monday, we would appreciate you post back the wrong one and we will refund post.

I received my order today and I am very disappointed the eyes are all damaged and I would not consider them safe to use with young children I can send.pictures back but would just be a waste of time I'm sure you may have had problems with these products in the past and and would never have dispatched such an obviously flawed consignment. Please if you could either credit my paypal account back or else just send out a duplicate of the order as a replacement and I will dispose of the faulty damaged and so dangerous lot I originally received ASAPMany thanks

I received my order this morning. Thank you for the prompt service. One thing though. I am sure I would appreciate your standard p&p rate if I had placed a larger order, but charging €2.90 for an item which actually cost €0.68 postage and was sent in a standard plain white envelope seems more than a little steep. I will be looking elsewhere in future. I would have got the needles cheaper and p&p the same price or less by ordering from a UK store. Serves me right for trying to stay "local"...

It is difficult to get the balance right, We believe our postage rate is fair and we make it very clear within the wool shop web site that there is a fixed carriage charge of €2.90.

In reality the real money cost of processing your order is considerably more that €2.90.

I hope you will buy from us again as our little business supports two jobs, soon (we hope) to be three jobs in rural Ireland.

Hi LYour order of the 13th of January was returned to us by Correos (the spanish Post Office). They were unable to effect the delivery and the the package remained at your local office for 7 days. When the package was not retrieved by you, they returned it to us.We have issued a refund of 38.70 less a 15% restocking charge, the refund value was 32.89 euro.Regards Niall McCann

Hi Cathe,

The celtic alphabet was posted on Thurs 10th of this month. I would have expected it to be with you at this stage. We had delays over the xmas with parcels and delays with customs in the USA but I cannot understand January being slow. I am told it can take up to 15 working days for American post, which is awful, but it does bring us to Weds or Thurs. Let us leave everything sit until middle of next week. If it has not arrived by then I will refund you. Unfortunately I do not have another to send you as a replacement.

Fingers crossed it will be delivered this week.

My problem is we are opening a craft pop up shop ( first time ever) amongst a group of friends & I really needed the wool for scarf's, mittens, hats etc so the longer the delay in it arriving the less time I have for making my stock ....
