Nearly all yarn has a colour / shade number and a dye lot or batch number, the colour of a yarn may vary from batch to batch. It is important to buy the correct quantity of yarn for your project at the same time and check the dye lot is the same..
The site has two menus, a red menu bar at the top of the site displaying information and a menu bar on the left hand side of the page concentrating on product.
To move to a page in the site, place your mouse icon over the information heading or product type you want to learn about. Then click the left hand button on your mouse. This will lead you into the detail you have selected.
To go back or move to another page on the site use the menu.
Buying Yarn or other product on the site is simple, just select the product and add it to a virtual shopping cart.
Find the product you want and click the “ADD TO CARD” button below or to the right of the product. You will be moved on to the shopping cart page. Enter the correct quantity and click the “UPDATE SHOPPING CART” button. Use the menu on top or the “Continue Shopping” button to bring you back the product pages.
Once you have everything you want click the “PROCEED TO CHECKOUT” button at the bottom of the page. On the next page you can choose to check out as a guest, register as a new Knitting club member or log in if you have already have an account (knitting club members may only see the log in).
If you are a Knitting club member “LOGIN” at this point. Next is the billing information address page, you will need to fill in your details. There is an option to ship to a different address click the box at "ship to a differnet address".
On the shipping information page check your address is correct, now choose the shipping method. Use the recorded method if you do not trust your postal system. Note we have found missing deliveries to be very rare.
After you click the orange “Place You Order” button you will move to the payment information page. Realex and PayPal are highly reputable online and secure payment providers and we trust them to protect your details. Our site will process your order, it takes a few seconds so please be patient. Next you are automatically transferred to the Realex or PayPal’s secure web site to take your payment, at this time you order is processed.
Once payment is confirmed you will receive an order conformation emails and your order will be dispatched.
On the top right hand side of each page is a search box. Choose the words you use in the search box with a little care. For example if you search under Sirdar you will get almost 500 results. If your search for Ophelia you will get twenty results.
We only record information necessary for the invoice and we do not record credit card details. If you join the knitting club the site will remember your address.
We will not share your details with anybody.
We use Realex and PayPal to process customers payments. Both of these companies operate to the highest standards and we believe you can trust them with your details
Members of the club can keep their address and a history of their purchases on the site. This saves them retyping the address every time they place an order.
We send club members a free knitting pattern and a members only special offer once a month.
